Target gives you 90 days to return most things, and longer if you paid with a Target Circle Card. Electronics and phones are the exception, with 30-day and 14-day windows that are easy to miss.

Target Circle Card and Target Circle 360: cardholders and Circle 360 members get an extra 30 days to return nearly all items bought with the card, which takes most purchases to 120 days.
For online orders, the window starts when you receive the order (delivery, Shipt delivery, or store pickup). Some items list their own terms on the receipt, packing slip, or product page.
What Target won’t refund
Final sale, no returns:
- Trading cards and trading card accessories
- Open or defective collectibles
- Personalized items and digital downloads
- Opened breast pumps
- Specialty and prepaid gift cards
- Some Target Plus Partner items
Exchange only, once opened (same title, no refund): music, movies, video games, software, and airbeds.
Purchases from Target Optical, Warby Parker, the pharmacy, Starbucks, and Target Tech counters go back to those counters, not Guest Services.
How to return to Target
In store. Bring the item to Guest Services with the receipt, the return barcode from the Target app, or the card you paid with. Online orders can be returned in store too.
By mail. In your Target.com account, open the order, choose the item, and follow the return steps to get a prepaid label. Keep the carrier receipt until the refund posts.

No receipt?
Target can find most purchases without a paper receipt. Your Target app keeps in-store purchases for about a year if you scanned your Target Circle barcode, entered your Circle phone number, or paid with a card saved to your account. Opened music, movies, video games, and software can only be exchanged for the same title, not refunded. The same exchange-only rule applies to opened airbeds.
Can I return something to Target without a receipt?
