How long do most stores give you to return something?
At big US retailers, 90 days is now the most common standard window (Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, Kohl's), while 30 days is still typical at department and off-price stores. Electronics usually have shorter windows, often 14 to 30 days.
Can I return something without a receipt?
Usually, yes. Most large stores can find your purchase from the card you paid with or your account. If they can't, expect store credit at the item's lowest recent price and a request for photo ID.
How long should a refund take?
Once the store issues it, a card refund usually takes 3 to 10 business days to reach your account. For mailed returns, add shipping and inspection time before the refund is issued.
Is Returns & Refunds connected to any store?
No. No store or manufacturer pays us or reviews what we publish. Policies do change, so check the store's own policy page before you rely on a deadline.
